FAQ

  • Are the artists required to pre-sell tickets to the festival?

Absolutely not! Attendance will be based on typical venue customer base, personal invitations, and advertising.

  • Is there a fee for artists to participate in the festival?

There is a nominal $50 registration fee to cover the cost of processing paperwork, building an artist profile on the website, and advertising for the festival.

  • Will artists be able to sell their own CD's, T-shirts, etc?

Definitely! You will, however, have to provide your own personnel to handle product sales.

  • Will the venues provide backline for the artists?

Sound equipment such as microphones and sound systems/lighting (only) will be provided. The artist will provide his/her own instruments/amplifiers/drum kits, and any/all other needed musical equipment, drum mics, and instrument mics.

  • I will be coming from a distant location... are there travel discounts?

Yes! Hess Travel is the official travel agency of the Orion Independent Music Festival, and will be handling all travel/hotel reservations, as well as discounted ski passes. All Artists (Major, Indie, Unsigned) are responsible for their own transportation and lodging expenses to, from, and during the festival.

  • Is transportation provided?

You are responsible for all transportation to and from the airport, hotel, and venues; however, there are public transportation systems available in both cities:

Salt Lake City Transporation: http://www.rideuta.com/default.aspx

Park City Transportation: http://www.parkcity.org/citydepartments/transportation/index.html
